Sometimes it's easier to connect with students and parents if they know a little about the teacher as a person. I would like to introduce myself .
I graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1980 and I have been teaching in Vancouver since September of that year. I started my career at Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary School and transferred to Dr. Annie B. Jamieson Elementary School in 1988. The grade levels I have taught range from grades 4 to 7. I spent one year teaching grade 3, which was a terrific experience. I have taught all subject areas, including P.E., music, art, French, and technology. My program is fairly structured with a focus on basic skills, but there are opportunities for discussion and expression of opinions. As a personal philosophy, I believe that school helps the home develop the character of the whole child academically and socially.
I have an "open door policy". If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to me outside of class time. My classroom is available to students before and after school so that they can complete assignments or receive extra help.
